London Bridge
London Bridge is a bridge in London, England over the River Thames, between the City of London and Southwark. It is between Cannon Street Railway Bridge and Tower Bridge; it also forms the western end of the Pool of London. London's original bridge made this on

On the north side is the Monument to the Great Fire of London and Monument tube station.
The bridge is designated part of the A3 road, maintained by the Greater London Authority,although the bridge is privately owned and maintained by the Bridge House Trust charity.
Tower Bridge is often mistakenly referred to as London Bridge.
The area between London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the south side of the Thames is managed by the London Bridge Business Improvement District (BID) Company.

ndres (en anglais London Bridge) fut jusqu'en 1750, le seul pont qui, à Londres, enjambait la Tamise au niveau de la City pour rejoindre Southwark.D'abord, un pont de bois existait déjà sous l'occupation romaine. Il fut remplacé par un ouvrage en pierre au XIIe siècle (construit de 1176 à 1209), et qui comportait 19 arches. Jusqu'en 1770, celui-ci était couvert de maisons, de boutiques et d'une chapelle. L'ouvrage était fortifié, et au-dessus de la porte donnant sur la rive sud, les têtes des condamnés exécutés étaient exposées, plantées au bout d'une pique.
En 1831, le pont de Londres fut de nouveau reconstruit en granit par John Rennie. L'édifice jugé trop étroit, fut démonté en 1969 et revendu aux Américains qui le remontèrent dans la ville de Lake Havasu City, dans le comté de Mohave (Arizona). Il fut lui-même remplacé par l'ouvrage actuel, inauguré en 1973 qui est l'œuvre de l'architecte Harold King et qui a fait de ce pont l'un des plus modernes de la ville.
